At the reunion, there was a lot of visiting but we also went to the pool for a while and Kirsi tried mini-golf for the first time with Auntie Kristin and Uncle Dean. She liked golfing but she enjoyed writing down the scores even more. Her little cousin, Olivia, joined us and the two of them were so cute together. "Kirsi, did you get my score? I got a 5." "Yep, got it!" So sweet!

On Sunday, July 19th, we said good-bye to Der as he had to go back to work this past week. It was a tearful good-bye but we've been managing. Since then, we've been kept busy with running into the city for this and that, playing outside, going with Grampa to the farm, going on the boat, and just having summertime fun. On Saturday, we had a Wagner family reunion. It was great to see so many cousins, aunts and uncles again! There were people there that I hadn't seen in years so it was good fun. Not everyone was able to make it but even so, there were 93 of us there! Next week, we're having a Miller get-together at the farm so we'll get to see everyone on that side then.

We had so much fun when we were in Swan River. When we first got there, we were greeted by the whole Kitch crew - Nana and Papa, Brody, Hannah, Auntie Rhonda and Uncle Ian and Carson, Grace, Auntie Rhonda and Uncle Travis! It was great to see everyone again. :)We headed up to the lake as soon as we could so we could enjoy the great outdoors while the weather was nice and while Rhonda and Ian were on holidays. We all bunked in the cabin - thanks to Brody and Hannah for giving up their room for us - and spent the days outside. We went to the lake, played at the beach, went for boat rides and tube rides and had campfires.
On Canada Day, Nana and Papa had a big family BBQ at their place. They invited everyone over for a visit and supper. We got to see lots of people - Auntie Ev and Uncle Ejner, Erin, Rob and Myley, Ryan and Kristen, Aunt Marlene and Ed, Aunt Louanne and Dwight, Orest and Carolyn and Bruce and Barb. (I really hope I didn't miss anyone out!) It was a full house but it was great to visit with everyone. Aunt Lila couldn't make it then but she did come out later and we got to visit with her a few times so that was good too.
Kirsi was sooooo excited to see everyone again! She had been talking about going back to Canada for weeks before we left and she had a grin plastered on her face the first few days we were back. Aidan did really well with all the new people; as long as Mommy or Daddy was close by, he was fine. He took a while to warm up enough to let people hold him but he soon got used to the familiar faces. After the lake, we hung out at Nana and Papa's for the rest of our time there. Brody and Hannah came by often for a visit and Kirsi was very excited for that. It was a sad good-bye when we had to leave and Kirsi was old enough this time to realize what was going on, though she didn't understand all the tears (next summer is still too far away to really know how long it was going to be).

Aidan turned one a month ago but I didn't get a chance to put up his one-year-old pictures. In this picture, Aidan wore the little red outfit that Derwin and both his brothers wore for their one-year-old pictures.
I didn't get a chance to take his one-year-old pictures before we left Santiago so I took them while we were in Swan River. I had to enlist both Nana and Papa to help me get a few good shots of our little guy. He's so busy and has no time to stop for pictures!

We arrived in Canada on Saturday, June 27th - yahoo! We spent the first day with my family in Avonlea. It was great to see Mom, Dad, Kristin, Dean, Bruce, Deanna and Teagan again. :) Then on Sunday, we headed to Manitoba to Der's stomping grounds. It was so fun to see Del, Ilene, Ian, Rhonda, Brody and Hannah and Trav, Rhonda, Carson and Grace. We headed up to the lake the next day. It was fabulous to spend sunny, summer days at the lake. Ian and Rhonda opened up their cabin to us and Brody and Hannah gave up their room for us. What great hospitality!
We spent a lot of time at the beach, which the kids loved! Aidan was happiest playing in the sand and the mud. Kirsi loved playing in the sand and making trenches, castles and pouring water. The kids went for rides on the boat and on the tube; Aidan was indifferent to the rides and Kirsi thought it was pretty fun. Kirsi discovered sunflower seeds and freezies this time in Canada. And she loves both. :)
We're back in Swan River now. Aidan enjoyed his first ice cream cone at Shivers, my favourite ice cream place. Kirsi loves playing outside with Nana and Papa and helping Papa in the garden. She has taken a liking to Nana and Papa's garden gnomes, especially the bunny and the fox (that she calls her pretend puppy). Playing in the treehouse that Daddy, Uncle Ian and Uncle Travis has become a favourite activity too.
Pictures will come as soon as I get them downloaded. :)
